"Fall smells orange" - I think that is the correct quote from Cynthia Rylant's In November. Or maybe "November smells orange." I love the food and outdoor smells of Fall.
ReplyDeleteMe too Joyce. Now I need to find that Rylant book. I'm trying to come up with a display for November. I was going to do something with cornucopias and books. Sounds like that would be a good book to include.
ReplyDeleteJoyce - I found the book. It's "In November" by Cynthia Rylant and it says "In November, the smell of food is different. It is an orange smell. A squash and a pumpkin smell. It tastes like cinnamon and can full up house in the morning, can pull everyone from bed in a fog. Food is better in November than any other time of year." What a lovely way to describe a month. I can't believe I don't own this book.
